4. Setting up email on your computer
In Outlook or Apple Mail, add an "Other" account using mail.mailconfig.net for both incoming and outgoing, with your full email address as the username.
Outlook and Apple Mail both work with your email. In each case you are adding a standard IMAP account rather than a Gmail or Outlook.com one.
4.1 Apple Mail on a Mac
- Open Mail, then Mail → Add Account.
- Choose Other Mail Account.
- Enter your name, full email address, and password, then choose Sign In.
- When it says it cannot verify the account, enter
mail.mailconfig.netas both the Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server, and set Account Type to IMAP. - Choose Sign In again.
4.2 Outlook on Windows
- Go to File → Add Account.
- Enter your full email address and choose Advanced options → Let me set up my account manually.
- Choose IMAP.
- Enter
mail.mailconfig.netfor both incoming and outgoing servers, then enter your password.
4.3 The settings, if you are asked for them
Every setting you might be prompted for is listed in Your email settings at a glance. Keep that page handy while you set things up.
4.4 Give it a moment
The first time you connect, your mail app will download your existing messages. On a large mailbox this can take several minutes. Leave it running and it will settle.
