3. Setting up email on your phone

Both iPhone and Android can collect your business email alongside your personal accounts. The important thing is to choose Other when asked what kind of account you are adding — your address is not a Gmail or Outlook account, even if it looks similar.

3.1 On an iPhone or iPad

1. Open Settings, then Apps → Mail → Mail Accounts.
2. Tap Add Account, then Other, then Add Mail Account.
3. Enter your name, your full email address, your password, and a description such as “Work”.
4. Choose IMAP at the top.
5. For both Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server, enter the host name mail.mailconfig.net, with your full email address as the username and your email password.
6. Tap Next, then Save.

3.2 On an Android phone

1. Open your mail app and choose to add an account.
2. Pick Other or Personal (IMAP) — not Google.
3. Enter your full email address and password.
4. If asked for server details, use mail.mailconfig.net for both incoming and outgoing.

3.3 Why IMAP matters

IMAP keeps your phone, computer, and webmail in step with each other. Read a message on your phone and it shows as read everywhere; file it into a folder and it moves everywhere. The alternative, POP, downloads mail to one device and can make messages appear to vanish from the others — we do not recommend it.

3.4 If it will not connect

The usual cause is the username: it must be your full email address, not just the part before the @. If it still refuses, send us a note and we will check the account from our side.
