6. Changing your email password
Change it from Settings inside your webmail. Afterwards, update the password on every phone and computer that collects your mail, or they will stop connecting.
You can change your own email password at any time, and it is worth doing if you suspect someone else has seen it.
6.1 How to change it
- Sign in at mail.yourdomain.com.
- Open Settings.
- Choose Password, then Change password.
- Enter your current password, then your new one twice.
6.2 What makes an acceptable password
It must be between 10 and 34 characters and include a mix of upper and lower case letters, at least one number, and at least one special character. A short phrase with a number and a punctuation mark is easier to remember than a jumble and is just as strong.
6.3 Afterwards — this part matters
Changing the password does not update your devices. Every phone, tablet, and computer that collects this mailbox will keep trying the old password and will start showing connection errors. Go to each one and enter the new password. If a device keeps prompting you, remove the account and add it again using the settings in this section.
6.4 If you have forgotten it
Get in touch and we will set a new one for you. We cannot look up your existing password — nobody can, including us — so a reset is the only route.
